KUÇOVA - On 24 October, an event entitled "Social Businesses in the EU, National and Local Perspectives" was organized by the Directorate of Strategic Development and European Integration in the Municipality of Kucova, with representatives of the Association "Oil Petrol Woman in Development Focus". The meeting was held in the premises of the Association with the participation of 25 women and girls.
The purpose of this activity was to disseminate information to local women's associations on social business as a new field of development, information on European and national legislation and programs in this field, as well as providing information on why cooperation between states and organizations from different countries of the EU and other non-member states is needed to solve current development problems and to set new targets. During the event were presented social services in Europe, administrative reforms and financing challenges and the European social fund. At the same time were also presented 10 auxiliary steps in starting and managing a social business, the legal package for social enterprises, the financial situation and organization of a social business.
This event informed women, young girls and women's associations in Kucova on how to open a social business as well as informed them on the national and EU legislation and programs for technical and financial support. Women in business discussed opportunities for developing local social enterprises and opportunities for involvement in European projects in the field. Women and girls asked questions about the functioning and inclusion of the activities of the European Integration Unit in the municipality. At the end of the activity they were provided with detailed and relevant information on how to turn their ideas into concrete projects. The event closed with a cocktail party where attendees continued to socialize and network.
