The role of local self-governance in the policy and Acquis Communitaire implementation, as well as in the European integration agenda is very important. The European Commission highlights this role in the 2019 Communication on EU Enlargement Policy as follows: “The role of regional and local authorities should be taken into account in the process of EU harmonization and eventual application of EU rules. An appropriate balance must be found between central, regional and local government that best supports the implementation of reforms and the provision of services to citizens.
On Thursday 05.03.2020, it was presented in the Municipality of Skrapar, the second “Evaluation Report on the Integration Process”. What is the approach of the municipalities in the country towards the integration process, initiatives and projects through which municipalities can take a factor role in accelerating this process, these and many other topics were addressed at today's afternoon meeting in Çorovoda. The meeting was welcomed by the Mayor of Skrapar Mr.
The European Integration and Foreign Assistance Unit and the Tropoja Municipality celebrated Christmas in a special way this year.
Tirana, November 13th, 2019 - For two ongoing days, November 12 and 13th, the "Municipalities for Europe" project in cooperation with ASPA, conducted in the premises of the latter, a training with the first group of executives of European Integration Units. The training was about "Coordinating Foreign Aid in Local Level".
The European Integration and External Assistance Coordination Unit in the Municipality of Përmet joined the initiatives undertaken throughout Europe in the framework of the European Days of Local Solidarity. The event organized on November 26, 2019 was entitled "Youth Power in Protecting Europe's Last Wild River".
Throughout the week starting from November 18, the Municipality of Prrenjas conducted a series of activities in the framework of the European Days of Local Solidarity, among which the main ones were developed in collaboration with the high school students of “Ahmet Elezi” in the Administrative Unit of Stavraj as well as those of the “Arif Kuka” high school in the administrative unit of Qukës.
Under the ReLOaD Program (Regional Program for Local Democracy in the Western Balkans), which is funded by the European Union (EU) and implemented by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Municipality of Tropoja and the Alpin association have implemented the project “ Youth for the City ”in Tropoja Municipality.
The project was based on two training programs: one on developing the Tourism Guide (nature guide) and the other on Culinary (tourist gastronomy). These two training programs were facilitated by contracted trainers and developed in Bajram Curri, Tropoja.
